Jonathan Saunders’ collection in one word? Color. Msr. Saunders worked his signature ombre effects into light, playful cuts. The shapes were kind of…poufy. There were only a few of the sleek column dresses he’s well known for. Instead, there were lots of skirts that flared out in layers of chiffon. But, while there was a lot going on, there was a kind of simplicity that tied the collection together, and the clothes didn’t try too hard to be anything other than what they were. They were optimistic-looking, but not in a forced, vaguely artificial way (*cough* DVF *cough*). It makes me look forward to October!
