It’s not really spring without Diane Von Furstenberg. This season, it seems she wants to give me a color hernia. Her collection was a crazy riot of basically every color you can name, a hippie explosion of prints, flowers, and so many ideas my head was spinning after flipping through nearly 50 looks. It left me kind of dazed by the end, there were just so many ideas and different looks. I have to say I probably liked the beginning of the show best, because it seemed as if it would be a cohesive collection of neutrals, but then it kind of unraveled into this shitshow of color and print. Not that Ms. Furstenberg doesn’t make a good print, and there were plenty of pretty pieces and lots to please her fans, but there were just so many distinctly different ideas going on that I didn’t know what to make of it. It was kind of too happy. Although the models looked happy, which is always kind of fun. And I enjoy it when the big names come out to play. Even her Stamness walked (she hasn’t been around, weirdly). I really liked the flower headpieces though, and, funnily enough, I’ve been wearing similar headwear.
